Information You Submit
When a visitor types a name, phone number, or address into a search form, the entry goes to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of that search. A message sent to us contains only the details the sender chooses to provide, and we use those details to answer the inquiry.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, visited page, and timestamp. Aggregated logs help us maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and advertising measurement where those functions apply.
How We Use Information
Collected data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvement. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to government portals, records offices, library collections, and outside search providers. Information submitted after leaving Leland People Search is controlled by the destination's privacy terms. Sponsored results also come from an independent provider with its own data practices.
Who May Process Data
Hosting and support vendors process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic data described above. We may disclose information when valid legal process requires it, but otherwise do not share visitor data.
How Information Is Protected
An encrypted connection serves the site, and logs are kept only as long as operational needs require. Leland People Search has no visitor account, password, or hosted personal profile.
Visitors Under 18
The service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor submitted information so we can remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights to access, correct, or delete website data vary by residence. North Carolina has no broad omnibus consumer-data statute, though G.S. 75-66 restricts knowing publication of certain protected personal information after objection. Because we hold little data, we can search our contact mailbox and server logs for a request sent through the Contact page. Public records held by Leland, Brunswick County, or North Carolina agencies remain outside our control and must be addressed with the proper custodian.

A revised policy takes effect when it is posted here. Continued use after that posting indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
